Privacy policy

Fastpitch Rules is a service of High Sierra Creative LLC ("we," "us"), which is the business responsible for the data described here. The service answers softball rules questions and hosts branded rules pages for leagues. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

• Questions you ask. The free Q&A tool doesn't require an account. We store the question text, the answer, and a rough location signal (IP address) so we can rate-limit abuse and improve answer quality. We don't ask for your name or attach questions to an identity.
• League admin accounts. If you claim a league subdomain, we collect an email address and a password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never see or store your plaintext password).
• League content. Local rule sheets you upload, your league name, subdomain, logo, and brand colors.
• Payment information. Billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe gives us a customer ID and subscription status, nothing more.
• Basic usage data. Standard server logs (timestamps, IP address, pages requested) for security and debugging.

How we use it

To answer questions, run your league's branded page, process payment through Stripe, send you account and billing email through Postmark, and keep the service secure (rate limiting, abuse prevention). We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information as that term is defined in Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A, and we have no plans to. If that ever changes, you can submit an opt-out request to the contact address below.

Who we share it with

Only the vendors that make the service work: Stripe (payment processing), Postmark (transactional email), Anthropic and OpenAI (the AI models that generate answers and embeddings — question text is sent to them to produce a response), and our hosting provider. Each is bound to use your data only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

Questions and answers are kept to improve the service and populate each league's "what's asked" dashboard. League admin accounts and content are kept as long as the account is active, plus a reasonable period after cancellation in case you want to reactivate. You can request deletion at any time — see Contact below.

Your choices

League admins can update or delete their account and content from the admin dashboard, or by emailing us. The public Q&A tool requires no account, so there's no profile to manage — just stop asking questions and nothing further is collected.

Children's privacy

Fastpitch Rules is intended for coaches, league administrators, and parents, not for use by children directly. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the effective date above and, for league admins, note it in an email.
